Our Qualifications

River Oak Diamonds founder, David Baker, studied with the prestigious Gemological Institute of America in London to achieve his Accredited Jewellery Professional Diploma. The GIA is recognized as the world’s foremost authority on diamonds and developed the 4 C’s of the Diamond Grading System which is now the international standard for valuing a diamond.
After completing this comprehensive training, David went on to America to gain experience in the diamond business from the Master of the diamond industry, Fred Cueller. The ‘Diamond Guy®’, as he is known, includes among his many clients Oprah Winfrey, Hugh Hefner and members of the Saudi Royal family. The opportunity to understudy him in 2007 gave David a unique insight into this specialized business.

Each of our diamonds is supplied with an FBA (Fully Bonded Appraisal), which specifies the diamond’s colour, cut, clarity and carat weight, plus polish and symmetry grade among other details. Our diamonds are all either GIA Class 1 or Class 2 stones. If you are offered a diamond without an FBA, which is a guarantee, valuation & appraisal you need to ask why.
